Experiment design with Apollo

Hello! Great program, have really enjoyed working through the examples. I am curious if there is, or has been, discussion on experiment design in the context of designing choice experiments (surveys) and efficient (D, S, etc.) fractional designs. Other programs (e.g., Stata's DCREATE) is limited in the functional form of the utility function and it seems that this could be a natural application for Apollo's framework. Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Thank you for your kind words. We are glad that you like Apollo.

We are constantly considering new functionality. We thought about efficient designs, but that would depart a bit from the core objectives of Apollo, i.e. estimation and application of discrete choice models. So I am afraid that -at least in the medium term- experimental design is not coming to Apollo.

For experimental design I would recommend using Ngene (if you have access to a license). Free R alternatives include the package idefix and DCEtool.

Best wishes
David
